The Best Makeup is a category that needs less explanation and just some visuals.here are my prediction for the category.
1.J.Edgar(predicted winner)
For the transformation of Leonardo DiCaprio into J.Edgar Hoover
2.Albert Nobbs
For turning Glenn Close into a a ugly looking man.
3.Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 2
For the makeup to create the goblins,Eeath eaters,Fenyir Greyback and the casualties of the wizarding war.
Other films that can get nominated:
4.Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides
Makeup for creating the villain Blackbeard and the other pirates(mermaids are mostly CG)
5. The Iron Lady
For transforming Meryl Streep into the first female prime minister of England Margaret Thatcher.
6. The Green Lantern
For turning the good looking Peter Sarsgaard into the scary Dr hector Hammond
7. X-Men First Class
Makeups for transforming the beautiful Jennifer Lawrence into Mystique.The transformation of Beast is another good example.

Nice set of predictions. I think it's going to be a year where 2 "Oscar fare films" and a blockbuster get in. Which of those is the problem...there are so many of these films with great makeup that it won't be until the makeup shortlist before we get any clear insight into what the voters are thinking. All the films that you mentioned have great shots at getting nominated
